What are three most important elements of branding your business?

When it comes to branding a business, most people don’t know where to start. A “brand” is the label you stamp across your products or services. For example, Campbell’s Soup or Frosted Flakes. The image that usually comes to mind when you think of Campbell’s is a red and white can. And, Frosted Flakes… Tony the Tiger “They’re Grrrreat,” right? In order for your business to stand out from the rest, it’s important to stamp your “brand” on it. This tells clients that you are professional, experienced and they should buy from you.


A logo that represents your business is key. The value is endless: website, social media, business cards, brochures, signs, t-shirts, pens… the list goes on… The important thing to keep in mind, is to make sure you have only one logo. Your clients get confused if the images and messages are always changing. It might give the impression that you are untrustworthy or inexperienced. You want to give the impression that you can handle any project they give you. So, make sure to set the tone with a dependable, enterprising logo. Represent yourself and your business with eloquence.


Since we can “Google” everything, people are looking you up. Your customers will find you online, wherever you are. Be in charge of your “brand” and make sure your message is the same across the board. Use the your logo on social media and everywhere you show up online. This will help maintain your “brand” consistency. Whether you build your own website or hire someone, having an online presence is essential. Either way, the return on investment is substantial.


I meet so many people who don’t have business cards! Maybe since we live in a digital world, people think we don’t need them? We generally underestimate the value of business cards. Yet, it’s the most important networking tool. Hand out your business card every chance you get and watch the results come pouring in.
